With more than ten years of working experience in the real estate field, Calvin is the Director – Advisory Services at Professional Property Services Limited who specialises in strategic development & investment advisory, land administration and land use planning, financial viability assessment and property valuation. Calvin earned a dual degree in Real Estate and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the United States.
Prior to joining PPS, Calvin was the Associate Director leading the Consulting team of the Valuation & Advisory Services Department of CBRE in Hong Kong. In that role he was responsible for providing real estate advisory to public and private sector clients regarding optimal market positioning and development mix of real estate projects, retail consultancy, financial assessments, and handling land applications to the Government with respect to modification of lease terms, land premium assessments and negotiations and land resumption compensation claims.
Calvin has worked on a number of high-profile master planning studies and major development projects considering and advising on the project’s optimal development themes and land use mixes. His experience also included property market studies on new development areas at the North and Northeast New Territories, as well as several government studies for the Tung Chung New Town Extension and Lung Kwu Tan Reclamation.
As a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Calvin has undertaken valuations involving residential, office, industrial, retail, hospitality asset classes and institutional grade properties for accounting, financing and court submission purposes. His valuation inputs also support due diligence studies for potential disposals and acquisitions, rent reviews/ negotiations and lease restructuring.
Over the years, Calvin has executed a number of regional industrial/business park studies including for the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited which are the two entities spearheading innovation and technology development in Hong Kong. Leveraging his exposure to the wide array of cross-boundary strategic studies, Calvin brings in international best practices to reinforce successful project outcomes.
